Inciting Incident: Create an unsettling event that shatters the normalcy of the setting. This could be the discovery of something eerie, an unexpected encounter, or strange occurrences that escalate in intensity.
Build Tension: Gradually increase the sense of dread as your protagonist confronts the horrific aspects of their surroundings. Use pacing, detailed descriptions, and sensory elements (sounds, smells, etc.) to immerse your readers.
Climax: Deliver a shocking turning point that forces your character to confront their fears. This should be a moment that challenges them both physically and psychologically.
