Story Length: We accept short stories between 3,000 and 10,000 words.

Genre: Dive deep into the realms of horror and dark fantasy. We’re particularly drawn to:

The visceral terror of body horror.
The chilling allure of supernatural horror.
The relentless dread of slasher horror.
The haunting whispers of gothic horror.

Feel free to explore other subgenres of horror and dark fantasy as well—our appetite for the macabre knows no bounds. Bring us your most spine-chilling, boundary-pushing tales!

Payment: We pay £50.00 for every accepted story.
First Publishing Rights: Upon acceptance, Dark Holme Publishing acquires the exclusive right of first publication. Copyright remains with the author, allowing future exploration of your work in other mediums.
Feedback: Due to the high volume of submissions, we are unable to provide individual feedback.
Notification: We aim to notify authors within 8 weeks. If you have not heard back within this timeframe, please assume your submission was not successful. However, you are welcome to submit another manuscript at any time.

Previously Unpublished Work: Only submit stories that have not been published elsewhere (online, in magazines, or anthologies).
Formatting: Use standard manuscript formatting with a legible font. Submit your story as a Word document or PDF.
Additional Information: Include your contact details and a brief bio (100-200 words) in the email body.

Multiple Submissions: We accept one submission per author at a time.
Rolling Submissions: Submissions are open year-round, though temporary closures may occur due to high volumes.
