Welcome to Dark Holme

Welcome to Dark Holme 🖤

Grab a coffee, settle in and have a look around. You might be here a while.

Dark Holme is a little difficult to sum up in one sentence. What started as an independent horror publisher has grown into something much bigger — and if you’ve just arrived, there’s quite a lot to discover.

We publish horror books, anthologies and Dark Descent, our monthly horror magazine. There’s the Dark Holme Store, where you can browse our books, magazines and collections, as well as free horror to discover.

Then there’s ShadowSphere, the community side of Dark Holme. That’s where readers and writers come together through groups, competitions, picture prompts, Flash Fiction Frenzy, Nightmare Poetry, microhorror and plenty more.

For writers, there are submission opportunities, competitions, resources, workshops and different ways to get your writing in front of readers. For readers, there are stories to discover, competitions to vote in, authors to meet and plenty of new horror lurking around the place.

And that still isn't everything. 😂

The good news is, you don't need to find everything today.

Make yourself at home. Wander through the site, poke around ShadowSphere, read something, join a group, enter something — or just grab that coffee and see where you end up.

Welcome to Dark Holme. Come for the horror. Stay for the community. 🖤
